Crooked Lake Resort

Crooked Lake Resort is a small mom and pop owned, off the grid, tranquil space nestled in the Interior Rainforest in the Cariboo Mountains.

An off the grid, remote wilderness resort where our guests can escape the pace and encumbrances of modern day life, to enjoy seclusion, solitude and back-country recreation. We invite you to be our guests for a relaxing and/or exciting stay you’ll remember.

Meet your hosts, Kim and Al Bouwmeester.

We have seven cozy cabins all overlooking beautiful, clean, and cool, Crooked Lake.

Some cabins are totally rustic while others have running water with showers and toilets, solar power for lights and a bit of charging time for your cameras. All are equipped with woodstoves, dishes, and bedding.

We have 8 RV spots with four hours of 15 amp service, water hook ups, and a wash/shower station.

We like to think we are contributing to a smaller footprint for our planet, so we only rent kayaks, canoes and row boats.

You are welcome to bring your own motor, but Crooked Lake is much better known for its quiet, reflective, floating kind of peace of heaven while gazing up at snow-capped Boss Mountain and majestic Eureka Peak.

We encourage our guests to pack in and pack out. Think about packing your food in recyclable containers that are easy to wash up and take home with you. We welcome you to leave your drink containers and beer cans for us to recycle.  We donate the proceeds of those little gems to local food security charities.

Crooked Lake is 63 km from the nearest store so be sure to top up your gas tank and cooler.

Getting Here

We are in the Eastern Cariboo-Chilcotin area of British Columbia. We can be reached by coming from 100 Mile House, via the Canim-Hendrix Lake Road route.  First light out of 100 Mile House is the Canim-Hendrix Lake Road, go right towards Forest Grove. Continue to follow the resort signs for Canim Lake, you will eventually  pass Canim lake and reach the Forest Service Road 6000. Look for the “Crooked Lake Resort” arrow signs, which will point your way to Crooked Lake Road. 

The other route in is to travel through 100 Mile House and continue on to 150 Mile House. You will follow the signs to Horsefly, and then follow the signs to Crooked Lake Resort via the Forest Service Road.
